Question ~
I recently (3months ago) had breast surgery with 370cc silicone breast implants which when I had consultation with surgeon I was told would take me to a c/d cup. before surgery i was wearing 38a bra and am currently wearing a 38b as the c cupbra is very baggy. does this sound right and where do I stand if it isnt.
Answer ~
One more example of why making decisions based on cup size is not reasonable!! Cup size is a figment of your imagination – of every woman’s imagination.
If a surgeon is going to operate on you – then your body, and your body’s limitations should factor into the preoperative planning of your surgery. If you ignore those limits, you and your surgeon are likely to destroy tissue.
Think of it this way…..if you take your child to the pediatrician, does the doctor look at your baby and say – “oh – he looks like the last baby that was in here – let’s use..” NO!! They take his temperature or do blood work or measure the blood pressure – - – medicine is science – not guess-work.
If you allow your surgeon to guess-work your operative plan, then you will get what you deserve.
There are scientific, published methods that allow us to objectively measure the breast and make quality decisions about breast implant size that is least likely to damage tissue long-term.
The High Five System of Measurement is tried, true and published.
Don’t let someone operate on you based on something that doesn’t exist….like cup size. It is your body and this surgery, breast augmentation, is ELECTIVE. Education and Knowledge are power – - the power to make excellent decisions and get the result you want that will last you as long as possible, causing you the least amount of problems and risk of reoperations.
