There is only one FORM stable implant and that is the Allergan Style 410 – it is a shaped implant…..and in the US is only available under study. In Canada and Europe, it is widely available. A close second would be the product still in study that is manufactured by Silimed. In The Best Breast 2 there are pictures of how you can cut a wedge out of the 410 and it will not migrate out of the shell.
Then there are cohesive gel breast implants or memory gel breast implants – these are made by both Allergan and Mentor and are all ROUND products. These are the very same implants that all the hoopla was about in the early 90′s – but, they have been through 16 years of study and improvement and were release for wide use in November of 2006. They are an excellent option for women today.
Please remember, how your breast aug ends up looking – fake or natural – is not about the SHAPE or FILLER of the implant…..it is about the SIZE of the implant and how the device or implant is used. No matter the shape or filler, if the implant is too big for the empty space in your breast, it will look buldgy and fake in the upper portion. There is no perfect implant – only the implant that is right for you and your tissue…it is kind of hard to know what is right for you unless your ps will measure your tissue and discuss your operation based on objectivity – hard numbers – not warm and fuzzy conversations that center around giving you anything your little heart desires – - ladies……this is an operation and your ps owes it to you to treat it that way, because you are about to change your body forever. In other words, when you step out of Botox and colored contacts and enter the world of breast implants….we aren’t in Kansas any more!
