Breast Implants ~ is deciding size really up to the patient and what she wants?

by Terrye Tebbetts

Question ~

I met with a PS I really liked yesterday. I have a great deal of questions resolved aside from that of size and profile. I will schedule a second appt dedicated to size and profile selection. In the mean time, this PS suggested that I ask other women of similar build about what they chose for themselves. I know that my individual chest wall, breast tissue, etc. will all be factors that determine the outcome, I am just looking for some general information.

Also, after finding a PS that you liked, did you continue to go on consults? How did you determine you were done with that stage?

thanks!

Answer ~

If we don’t demand that our surgeons plan the operation based on our body, what are we really signing up for?????

The concept of “I want to let the patient have a say in what she gets” relegates breast augmentation to the category of temporary changes and choices – like new colored contacts or highlights – which it is NOT – BA is a permanent change to your body and the ps should be responsible for your body and for helping you reconcile what you want with what you can really have.

To leave a consult with instructions to ask other women who kind of look like you what size they are and that is what he will use – scares the H— out of me.
