Here’s another amazing account of how 24 Hour Recovery and traveling really works! And on top of that she has 4 children to go home to!! It is so nice when we can deliver a better surgical experience so that the patients can do this when they are busy and it’s in their best interest to have surgery when they are busy. We need one day….then it’s back to the grindstone and its amazing how empowering it is to be able to take over, control and conquer your BA experience!
A Mother’s Experience with Dr. Tebbetts and 24 Hour Recovery~
What an amazing experience I had with Dr. Tebbetts! His 24 Hour Recovery is very real! After reading “The Best Breast 2″ from cover to cover, I felt very well-prepared for my entire BA experience. I have four children, ages 8, 6, 4 and 2, so I could not afford to have an extended recovery time. I can barely sit uninterrupted for more than 2 minutes since I am a stay-at-home mom, so being in bed or out of commission for a long recovery time was definitely out of the question for me! The women I know who have had BA’s all have had long breast augmentation recovery times, so I excitedly shared my new-found knowledge with them. They were amazed that a 24 Hour Recovery even existed and were actually quite skeptical about the whole thing. I have to admit that I had great satisfaction in being a living example in front of their eyes! We traveled from out of state to see Dr. Tebbetts, so we stayed with my sister-in-law (who has had a BA). She could not believe that I was up and around the same day of surgery! After surgery, I took a 2 hour nap and then woke up to a delicious meal prepared by my husband, took an 800mg Ibuprofen, and got into the shower. I was able to lift my arms while washing my hair and then blow drying it afterwards. I did my first set of arm raises and felt some tightness (not pain) like I had worked out really hard the day before. Once I did the exercises and started moving around, the tightness subsided. I continued to do the arm raises every 30 minutes throughout the rest of the day. The kids did not even notice I had surgery because I was up and around that same afternoon! We went shopping at Watters Creek and I was able to try clothes on without any difficulty and later that evening my husband and I went out to dinner. The next morning I was able to pick up my 2 year old son, who is 25 pounds. I had my follow-up visit and then we went out to lunch with my sister-in-law and her husband, then spent the rest of the day shopping and house hunting, as we will be re-locating to Dallas soon. We drove home the next day. You would think a long road trip after surgery and with four little kids in the car would be a nightmare, but it was great and I was able to help the kids and was comfortable on the trip. When we got home, I went about my regular daily activities without any problems. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate Terrye, Dr. Tebbetts, and their staff for their amazing work and professionalism! The entire process was smooth and very stress-free. I felt very informed and comfortable with all of my choices. I am two weeks post-op now and I feel great! My body feels and looks more proportionate and clothes shopping is even more fun than I could have imagined! I look forward to the following weeks when I “drop and fluff,” although I am extremely happy and satisfied with how I look now! A great experience all around, I would not have done it any other way!
